Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 overhauled by Hennessey comes in three variants. The most powerful version is called HPE1000 and of course, the label indicates the number of horsepower that develops this Camaro. Although this is not the latest model of Camaro (which was recently released to the market), this 2014/15 model is currently one of the most powerful Camaros that money can buy.
As a reminder, the 2014 Camaro Z/28 in its default version comes with a 7-liter LS7 V8 engine that produces 500 hp and 637 Nm of torque, while the 2015 Camaro is a little more powerful: 505 hp and 652 Nm of torque. After having installed HPE1000 set modifications, this Camaro is developing 1000 HP at 6300 r/min. Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h is accomplished in just 3.1 seconds, while the quarter-mile passes in 10.4 seconds at a speed of 219 km/h.
How this Camaro does not fall apart at the first meeting of the gas pedal and the road, engineers from Hennessey Performance improved the system with a 2.9-liter turbocharged, forged pistons and steel bars, specially adapted HPE crankshaft and extended the intake and exhaust ports. In addition, the engineers installed a set of high-performance fuel injectors and upgraded the entire fuel system to handle with all that extra power.
High-performance intercooler system, upgraded intercooler heat exchanger, stainless steel branches and high-flow catalytic converter are also part of the Hennessey magic. In the video made by Hennessey, you have a chance to see their two Camaro Z/28 and ZL1 that jointly develop 1650 HP. Enjoy:
