Brand New 10-Speed ZL1 Rips Burnout In Dealership Parking Lot

What’s the first thing you would do if you got your dirty little paws on a brand new 2017 Camaro ZL1 equipped with the coveted 10-speed automatic? Well, if you are the guys over at RPM Motorsports, you rip a fatty burnout in the parking lot while the salesman that sold you the car helps video the whole thing. Now that’s how you pick up a car in style.

The guys at RPM Motorsports, out of Garner, North Carolina, recently took delivery of their brand new shop car—the aforementioned ZL1—and, as you may have guessed, quickly turned the tires into plumes of smoke with just 13 miles on the clock; and in the dealership parking lot no less. Needless to say, there is plenty more where that came from.

2017 Camaro ZL1 Burnout

After getting baseline dynos and laying down some initial track times (during which they hope to become the fastest stock ZL1 ever), they intended to rip into the ZL1 with reckless abandon. The plan is to end up with the fastest sixth-gen ZL1 in the nation. However, they’ve got a lot of competition since Accelerated Racing Solutions is building their—also white—ZL1 as we speak. We’ll be bringing you the entire build from the ARS team soon, so stay tuned.

In the mean time, enjoy taking in a pristine Camaro in its natural environment, tearing a set of tires to shreds. We can personally vouch for the voracity of the sixth-gen ZL1 after we spent some time behind the wheel on our way to Daytona. But even we didn’t have the huevos to lay down a massive burnout—well, not while the GM reps were watching anyways.

Our hats are off to the guys over at RPM Motorsports for breaking in their new ZL1 the right way. And check back as we stay up to date on what may eventually be the fastest ZL1 in the nation.
