If you are an automotive technician, you’d better listen up. If you know an auto tech, you’d be a bad friend not to send them this. Hot on the heels of the 2017 Mahle “Drive With The Original” promotion, Mahle Aftermarket has released the details of the 2018 version of the promotion, where a lucky technician will have a chance to win Mahle’s Resto-Mod 1968 Chevy Camaro, built by Petty’s Garage.
Starting today, December 12, 2017, and running through October 1, 2018, the grand-prize will consist of four finalists being randomly selected to receive a trip for two to the 2018 AAPEX show in Las Vegas, where the grand prize winner will be chosen by drawing keys out of the Original himself, Richard Petty’s hat.
Aimed only at professional auto technicians, the contest is open to U.S. Residents 18 or older, who are professionally employed by, or the owner of, a company whose primary business is commercial automotive repair. Each time the technician uses select Mahle Original gasket sets, an entry into the contest can be submitted via the instructions on the packaging.
The grand prize, the Mahle Petty’s Garage 1968 Camaro, will feature an LS engine filled with Mahle components, big disc brakes, and a custom Magnaflow exhaust. The car will sit on Petty’s Garage suspension components, with 20-inch Forgeline wheels and Continental Tires, and will have a custom fabricated front splitter and rear spoiler.

In addition to the Camaro, there will be 1,000 “instant winners” with prizes including Richard Petty Driving Experiences, autographed Richard Petty signature cowboy hats, autographed die-cast model cars, insulated tumbler mugs, and baseball hats.
