WOW! This show was a little different than the other car show we have had in the past years. Because of the morning rain shower that was south of us, we didn’t get as many vehicles as we had in the past. We had 65 Vehicles attended. Normally we have a little over 100 vehicles.
The morning was overcast with a breeze and was dark to the south of us. Later in the morning the sun finally came out and then it was very humid and hot. We had free water for anyone that wanted to get some.
We did things a little differently this year by collecting the registration fee at the entrance before you came into the parking lot. We would give you a ticket to bring into the building to register your vehicle. We pulled tickets for the door prizes that were donated by our sponsors.
We had a 50/50 raffle and half of the split was $81.00. There was a BBQ truck and the roller rink also had inside concessions with other items. You could go inside to get out of the heat and cool off for a bit. The awards were top 25, Best Engine, Farthest Travel, Best of Show, Camaros of Michigan Club Pick. We also had 2 special awards in Loving Memory for Elmer Perrigan and Terry Porter. With as many vehicles as we had and because of the weather, we raised $825.00 for our charity Hospice of Holland. We also took in for the Harvest Stand 464lbs of food. That is awesome!
I also want to say thank you for all of your help to Fran Sosa, Kris Sosa, Michelle Ohse, Jake Ohse, Teri Porter Van Linder, Linda Lawrence, Joe Cuellar, Rebekah Bouwkamp, Randy Fletcher, Nu-Gig Events, Our Judges from the Vintage Car Club, Gwen Bartels, Jim Lamberts, Allen Ouzts, Ardee Rocha, Todd Russell and also Michael Russell for getting us the judges.
Overall I think that the show went well even in a different venue. We will see what next year will bring for 2023.
Well, this year was better than last year. It rained a little and then the cloud moved away and it was hot and sunny the rest of the day. We had 75 vehicles this year that attended. Normally we have a little over 100 vehicles.
