Want to cover up part of your hood engine latch and still make your engine bay pop? Well, you can with our hood engine upper latch plate. Few tools are needed to install this cover just put it over top to cover up part of the upper hood latch area and, use the existing factory washers and bolts or you can purchase some chrome bolts and washers to attach it to your Camaro from us for an additional charge. The upper hood engine latch plate is a 20 gauge mirrored stainless steel. This piece will only cover the upper hood latch area and not the whole hood of the car.

Important Installation Note
Do not over-tighten the bolts when reinstalling the upper hood latch plate on your Camaro. Over-tightening can dent or deform the upper hood latch mounting area. This damage may not be obvious at first, but it can become noticeable in the reflection if you install a mirror-finish or powder-coated hood latch cover.
If you purchased the optional hardware from us, please note that the bolt length and washer style may vary depending on our current inventory.
Also, the center hole of the supplied washer is intentionally larger than the bolt. As you tighten the bolt, make sure to keep the washer centered beneath the bolt head before fully tightening it. This will ensure proper alignment and the best finished appearance.
Product Information
- Minor handling marks may be visible on the underside of the Engine Hood Latch Plate. These marks will not be visible once the plate is installed on your Camaro.
- Mirror and brushed finish Hood Latch Plates are shipped with a protective vinyl film to prevent damage during shipping. Simply peel off the protective vinyl before installation to reveal the beautiful mirror or brushed finish.
- You may notice a small amount of residue around the edges where the laser cut through the protective vinyl. This can be easily removed with 100% isopropyl alcohol and a soft cotton pad or microfiber cloth.
- Powder-coated Hood Latch Plates do not include a protective vinyl film.
- Powder-coated finishes do not have a clear coat like automotive paint. Because of this, the finish can be smudged or scratched if handled roughly. We take great care in packaging each item to help prevent damage during shipping.
- Due to the nature of the powder-coating process, minor imperfections may occasionally be present. While we inspect every part before shipment, these slight variations are a normal characteristic of the finishing process and are beyond our control.
- If you ordered one of our raw aluminum Hood Latch Plates, please note that light scratches or tooling marks from the fabrication process may be present. These parts do not include a protective vinyl coating and are intended to be painted, powder-coated, or otherwise finished by the customer.
